Lexington Police Report

July 16, 2012

Officer Jirasek assisted Milam County Sheriff’s Office on a case they were following up in the 9200 Blk of Hwy 77.

Officer Jirasek conducted a welfare check in the 400 Blk ofAve- F, on a subject possibly involved in a Family Disturbance.

Capt. Wooldridge spoke with subject at the Lexington Police Department about an assault. The assault took place in Austin TX. Report was made in Austin.

Capt. Wooldridge responded to a call in the 200 Blk of 5th St. in reference to a verbal disturbance. Both parties involved were contacted about the disturbance. After speaking with both parties and calming the situation, Cpt. Wooldridge was able to clear the scene without further incident or actions needing to be taken.

July 17, 2012

Officer Nurse assisted Lee County Deputies on a Welfare check in the 1400 Blk of FM 112. There was an opened door to a residence and Deputies and Officer Nurse ensured there was no foul play involved. It was determined there was no one at the residence at that time. The residence was secured at that time and Officers cleared the area without incident.

Officer Nurse was dispatched to the area of 696 in reference to a reckless driver in a white Dodge P/U. Officer Nurse canvassed the area and was unable to locate the vehicle. Officer Nurse cleared the area without incident.

Officer Nurse responded to the area of North Ave in reference to minors drinking alcohol. Officer Nurse checked out the complaint. No actions were taken due to there being no findings of any alcohol. Officer cleared the area and resumed normal patrol duties.

July 18, 2012

Officer Nurse responded to a gas drive off at the Cefco Convenience Store in which a white bucket truck drove off without paying for gas. Officer Nurse canvassed the area on SHWY 77 N for the vehicle in question but was unable to locate the vehicle.

Capt. Wooldridge and Officer Lucas responded to a call at the MR Storage buildings. Upon arrival it was discovered that there were approximately 30 storage units burglarized and damaged. It was also discovered there were several items removed from some of the units. An investigation is currently underway at this time. The Lexington Police Department has generated some positive leads of the possible vehicle and suspects involved in the burglary. Lexington Police Department has contacted Lee County Sheriff’s Office and Giddings Police Department for assistance with possibly identifying vehicles and possible suspects.

Officer Lucas conducted traffic control for workers working on sewer maintenance at Rockdale and Cherry St.

July 19, 2012

Officer Nurse was dispatched to 7th St in reference to a subject riding a lawnmower down the street causing a traffic hazard. Officer was unable to locate subject.

July 20, 2012

Officer Nurse was asked by the Fire Chief for a welfare check on an elderly subject who was not answering the phone. Contact was made with the elderly subject who was outside away from the phone at the time. Officer Nurse cleared the area.

Officer Jirasek responded to a disturbance in the 500 blk of 5th St. A subject was standing in the street cursing and wielding a knife. Subject did not threaten anyone and threw the knife away. Officer issued the subject a disorderly conduct citation.

Officer Jirasek responded to a disturbance at Herk’s Store. After further investigation it was found the subjects were just talking and there was no disturbance.

Officer Jirasek responded to a downed phone line at 7th and Rockdale St. The phone company was notified and responded to resolve the issue of the downed power line.

July 21, 2012

Officer Nurse received a call in reference to a reckless driver coming into the city on Hwy 77. Driver was located, but officers did not observe any traffic infraction.

July 22, 2012

Officer Jirasek responded to a suspicious person call at Peterson’s store. Subject had left prior to officer’s arrival. Officer advised owners to contact the Police again if the subject comes back. Officer was unable to locate the subject at this time.

Officer Jirasek responded to a call of found property at 7th and Rockdale St. Unknown subjects dropped off a lawnmower at a subject’s residence. The subject did not want the lawnmower, thinking that it could be stolen. A report was conducted and an investigation is being conducted at this time.

Officer Jirasek removed a large tree branch from the roadway at 6th and Rockdale that was impeding traffic.

Officer Lucas assisted E.M.S. with a lift assist for a patient with breathing problems in the 200 Blk of Cherry St.
