Renata Clara Teinert

February 16, 1917 - July 22,2012

Mrs. Teinert passed away the afternoon of Sunday, July 22, 2012 at her home in Warda.

Renata Clara (Jurk) Teinert was born on February 16, 1917 in Warda, Texas to August & Anna (Pietsch) Jurk. She was baptized on February 25, 1917 and confirmed on April 13, 1930 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda by Rev. Gottfried Buchschacher. Her confirmation verse was Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Renata was united in marriage to John Herman Teinert on October 30, 1938 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church by Rev. Paul Eifert. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church where she had served as a Sunday School teacher, was a member of the Ladies Aid, sang in the choir and was a member of the quilting group. Renata enjoyed playing dominoes with the Seniors Group, watching baseball (especially the Astros and Rangers) and taking care of her dog and kitty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, August & Anna Jurk; her husband, John H. Teinert; her son-in-law, Frank Herbert; her granddaughter, Pam Hehman; her great grandson, Blake Austin Barrow; six sisters and one brother.

Renata is survived by her three daughters, Jo Ann & Bill Lange of Warda, Carolyn & Woody Butler of Austin and Delores Herbert & Howard Konetzke of La Grange; grandchildren, Robbie & Karen Lange of Georgetown, Kevin & Sandra Lange of Cypress, Patrick Lange & Meghan Jenke of Bryan, Mark & Cami Butler of Johnson City, Suzanne & Scott Barrow of La Grange and Aimee Lehmann & fiancee, Allen Klepac of Austin; step grandchildren, Tim Butler of Florida, Paul Butler of Del Valle, David Butler of Austin and their families; great grandchildren, Trey Lange, Asa Lange, Grace Lange, Alexa Lange, Raina Lange, Shelby Barrow, Sawyer Barrow, Lacey Butler and Ashley Butler; brother, Monroe & Evelyn Jurk of Warda; sister-in-law, Lillian Pesick of Houston as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Jennifer Ramirez and Rosa Fillmore who have been loving and devoted caregivers to Mrs. Teinert.

Funeral services were at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda with Rev. Dennis Tegtmeier officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Robbie Lange, Kevin Lange, Mark Butler, Scott Barrow, Patrick Lange, Shelby Barrow and Trey Lange; Honorary pallbearers were Lacey Butler, Ashley Butler, Alexa Lange, Raina Lange, Asa Lange, Grace Lange and Sawyer Barrow.

Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour or the American Cancer Society.
