From the Mayor’s Desk

by Robert Willrich, Sr.

I read recently that there are growing concerns about dead trees and the personal liablility they may pose to home owners. Many of our trees, throughout Texas, have suffered greatly over the past couple of years, due to drought. No amount of rainfall today can bring a tree back to life once it has died.

The Texas Forest Service recommends that homeowners, as well as municipalities, trim or cut down dead trees in order to avoid the potential of a falling limb injuring an individual who may be passing beneath the dead tree or limb.

The City works to keep dead branches and overgrown limbs trimmed in order to avoid such liabilities, as well as to keep them out of electrical lines.

Let’s continue to work together to keep our city a safe and pleasant place to live.
