Lee County Major All-Stars Eliminated

by Mike Organ

The Lexington dominated Lee County Major All-Stars were eliminated Monday night by Grimes County. Lee County had made it to the final four before having their season ended.

Things started out great for Lee County. Ryan Garrison shut down GC in the top of the first inning. Sam Perry then led off for LC with a hustle double down the rightfield line. His quickness on the basepaths surprised the GC outfield as he slid safely into second base with room to spare. Garrison then singled up the middle to score Perry. A force out, a single to right, and a high hop single by Dylan Best scored the second run as LC took a 2-0 lead.

Grimes County started to come back in the top of the second. A lead off homer over the centerfield fence cut the lead to 2-1. Lee County answered back by loading the bases. Walker Hess lofted a deep sacrifice fly to score LC’s third run.

GC took the lead in the top of the third inning. A single and RBI double made the score 3-2. A walk and a home run put GC ahead permanently.

GC continued to add to their lead, widening the lead to 9-3 after five and a half. LC cut into the lead in the bottom of the sixth when Ruston Grimm hit a two-run homer. LC could score no more.

Members of the Lee County All-Stars were: Ryan Garrison, Walker Hess, Blake Fritsche, Colby Bexley, Ruston Grimm, Sam Perry, Carter Hibbeler, Dylan Best, Corbin Kawazoe, and Romeo Rodriguez.
