District Little League News

by Mike Organ

Lee County’s Major League all-stars got off to a shaky start falling behind LaGrange by seven runs. They righted the ship and battled back only to lose their first round game 9-7. From that point on, the 12- year olds have played good baseball with their bats doing the talking. The youngsters have played every game since with a purpose, since you are eliminated with two losses.

LC put Waller into the losers’ bracket with a 17-6 stomping on Wednesday night. Thursday night, LC ended Sealy’s season with a 16-2 win. That victory earned them a night off. They were to play Grimes County (Navasota) on Saturday night, but the contest was rained out. The contest has been rescheduled for Monday night at 8 pm in Navasota (after press time). The winner will play again Tuesday night, the loser next year as Juniors.
