Schulenburg, Texas invites everyone to what they have dubbed as the “National Party of Texas” – their Schulenburg Festival. The Festival will include a CPRA Rodeo, and is set for August 3rd, 4th and 5th.
The rodeo will be held both Friday and Saturday nights at the Wolter’s Park Rodeo Arena, where eight exciting events will start at 7:30 each evening.
This year’s entertainment showcases Break-n-Even from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Cody Johnson from 8:30 to 10 p.m. and Kyle Park, who will take the stage at 10:30 until midnight on Friday night.
Entertainment will start early on Saturday, under the pavilion, with Texas Dream Band taking to the stage at noon until 3:30 p.m. Hitmen will be on from 4 until 7 and Texas Unlimited Band will be on from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Kevin Fowler will highlight Saturday night’s entertainment, playing from 9:30 until 11, after which, Texas Unlimited Band will again take the stage until 1 a.m.
Sunday’s acts will include The Dujka Brothers from noon until 3, The Telstars from 3 until 6, and Texas Unlimited Band closing out the festival from 6 until 9 p.m.
There will be a Ladies’ and Men’s softball tournament, a golf tournament, a 5K run/walk, a family fun run 1K+, a Chili Cookoff, (along with a bean and Bloody Mary contest), a volleyball tournament, arts, crafts, antiques, collectibles, Go-Texan Events, a BBQ cook-off, horseshoe pitching, cow chip and egg toss, cow chip bingo, 3 on 3 basketball, tricycle races, Homecoming, carnival, and lots of food booths and ice cold refreshments. All of this PLUS a Kiddies Parade on Saturday at the park, and the Grand Festival Parade on Sunday from Downtown Schulenburg to the park.
