CCAAnnounces New Board Member
Deselle Jones, a 32 year resident of Cedar Creek, has recently been appointed to serve on the Board of Directors for Combined Community Action (CCA). Jones is an employee of Bastrop ISD and is a single mother to her 14-year old son.
Jones accepted the nomination to serve on the board because of her positive experience with the organization. She participated twice in the ECHO program, a leadership and skill building program, as well as a client of the Weatherization Program. “It was an honor and I saw it as a great opportunity to give back what was so confidently and generously given to me, to give back to my community and possibly encourage or inspire someone else who has the desire to continue their education,” said Jones.
Jones feels that she would not have had the opportunity to complete two degrees and be living her new life as a certified teacher if it were not for the programs available to her community through CCA. She has achieved success because of the staff’s dedication and caring.
