Lee County Commissioners’ Court Meeting
Mostly routine matters were dealt with at the Lee County Commissioners’ Court on Monday, June 11, 2012. Having now received approval from the TCEQ, the court set Monday, June 25, 2012 at 1:30 PM as the time for the necessary Public Hearing on the On-Site Sewage Facility Order discussed at the last meeting.
The primary change involved is to eliminate the ten-acre rule from the County’s requirements.
Because of a new rule concerning frequency usage that goes into effect the first of next year, the County must upgrade or replace all the ‘Panic’ systems for County or State Offices. After a review of the current equipment, it has been determined that three of the existing radios cannot be modified and must be replaced. The Court agreed to do this at a cost of approximately $500 each.
The Court also agreed to approve a change order to the Courthouse balcony framing repairs. During inspection, it has been determined that additional support is required for beams supporting the balcony and that these additional supports were not included in the original bid. The amount will be about $992 and will come from the contingency funds for the project.
The Court also approved the formal letter agreement between the County and Anthony Cardiel, CPA, CFE for the 2012, 2013, and 2014 Audits. This formalizes the agreement with Cardiel.
The Court was notified that the Sheriff’s Office has received a Certificate of Compliance for the Lee County Jail from the Texas Commission on Jail Standards.
