Robert Albert Artmann
Graveside services for Robert Artmann, 87 of Bonham, Texas and formerly of Giddings, are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Giddings City Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Walloch officiating.
Robert Albert Artmann was born on September 10, 1924 in Giddings, Texas to Edwin Robert & Annie (Saenger) Artmann. He was baptized and confirmed at Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Giddings. Robert worked for many years in his father’s cotton ginning business and construction company prior to World War II. During the war, Robert served in the Army, going to the Philippines, the western Pacific and Japan. He also took part in the reconstruction of Northern Japan after the war. Robert was employed with Brown and Root in Houston until his retirement.
Mr. Artmann passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at the Clyde W. Cosper Texas State Veterans Home in Bonham.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin & Annie Artmann; his wife, Lillian Goodwin Artmann and two sisters, Esther Grunwald and Linna Kruemcke.
Robert is survived by his son, Robert A. Artmann Jr. of Lubbock; his brother, Edwin Artmann of Cedar Hill, as well as several other relatives and friends.
