Timothy Lee Exner

November 20, 1959 - May 2, 2012

Timothy Lee Exner was born on November 20, 1959 in Giddings, Texas to Walter “W.O.” Oscar & Norma Marie (Toepper) Exner. He was baptized on December 6, 1959 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Paul Stengel, and was confirmed on April 7, 1974 at St. James Lutheran Church by Rev. Robert Hartfield. Tim attended school in Lexington and graduated from Lexington High School in 1978. He was united in marriage to Lisa Herklotz on June 21, 1986 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington by Rev. Rudolph Kurz. Their marriage was blessed with two sons, Kyle and Sloan. Tim had been employed with Alcoa in Rockdale as a mechanic and certified welder for nearly 30 years. He was currently employed with Lee County as a road hand with Precinct 2. Tim was an active member of Ebenezer Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder, a member of the Manheim Youth Supporters and was the unofficial mayor of Manheim. He enjoyed ranching, working cattle, hunting, roping, fishing, gardening and helping out and visiting with his friends and neighbors. He was his sons’ greatest supporter in their athletic and school activities.

Tim passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin from injuries he received in an accident at his farm.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Exner and his parents-in-law, Jim & Dolores Herklotz.

Tim is survived by his wife, Lisa Exner of Manheim; two sons, Kyle Exner of Huntsville and Sloan Exner of Manheim; father, W.O. Exner of Lexington; two brothers, Rodney & Becky Exner of Lexington and Mickey & Robin Exner of Forest Grove; two brothers-in-law, Lane Herklotz of Huntsville and Shannon & Michelle Herklotz of Lexington; nieces and nephews, Brandon Exner of Lexington, Dustin Exner of Manor, Matthew Exner of Lexington, Ashley & Ryan Priem of McKinney, Rex Herklotz of Huntsville, Brooke Herklotz and Kennedee Herklotz of Lexington; great nephew and great nieces, Braden Exner and Bailey Exner both of Lexington and Addison Priem of McKinney, as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Funeral services were 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Manheim with Rev. Herb Keistman officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Brandon Exner, Dustin Exner, Matthew Exner, Jimmy Stewart, Russell Schimank, Kyle Kieschnick, Steve Arldt and Bill Woodward.
