LC Youth Center to Open its Doors

The Lee County Youth Center will open its doors this summer for approved students in the fourth through eighth grades. Students may get an application for the summer program by calling the center and leaving a message including your address. An application, along with a parent letter that explains the program, will be mailed to you. The Center’s phone number is 979-542-4100. The program will be held three afternoons a week, Tuesday-Thursday and can serve only a limited number of students.

Participants will enjoy games, snacks, special events, outdoor and indoor physical activities, and working with High School mentors and volunteers. All students must apply to attend, and an adult will need to provide transportation to and from the center. Adult supervision is always provided. This is a pilot program that has been started to provide fun, engaging, quality programs for our youth. Don’t miss this opportunity. Call now and get your student involved. The program is for fourth through eighth graders this summer, and will continue in the fall for additional ages.

The Center is also hosting an online auction to raise funds for the new Youth Center. Donations to be placed in the auction are still being accepted. Please call the center at 979-542-4100 and leave a message with your phone number and we will call you back to arrange a time to meet you at the center to accept your donation. The online auction will begin May 14th and continue thru May 24th. Please go online and register at www.couchbidders.com. You will find many interesting, unique and valuable items. All proceeds will go to provide programs at the Lee County Youth Center.
