Drivers License Office Re-Opens
After months of being closed, forcing drivers to go to other cities to renew and/or get their driver’s license, the State has reopened the Drivers License Office in Giddings. Lee County Judge Paul Fischer stayed on the agency, encouraging them to bring back the office after budget cuts forced the local office, along with several others in the area, to close.
The office re-opened on Tuesday, May 8, and will be open every Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. until 10 a.m. and from 1 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. Only Class C Driving Exams will be given between the hours of 10 a.m. and noon on those days. Appointments are needed to take the exam.
The office is located at 170 E. Industry in Giddings.
