This year’s Homecoming festivities will begin Thursday night, first with the traditional Community Singing to be held at First Baptist Church and then with a Street Dance featuring local musicians, The Barons. The Lexington Little League field will also be busy Thursday night as participants of the Lee County Little League celebrate the one year anniversary of Lexington’s field and the opening of the new concession stand at the field.
Details of all the events scheduled for Homecoming are found in Section C of today’s paper. However, not mentioned are road closures on Saturday to accommodate the parade and several other features on the Square. A handicap drop off point will be set up Saturday at Rockdale and 3rd Street, while other road closures will include Rockdale at 4th, Main at 3rd, 4th and 5th and Belton Street between 3rd and 4th Streets.
This is Lexington’s 47th Annual Homecoming, which will culminate on Sunday with a luncheon fundraiser served by students and parents of Grad Bash 2014. The lunch will be held at the Lexington Park Building, beginning at 11 a.m.
