Combined Community Action Announces Winner of Cook-off

The Post Oak Inn Cookers were named Grand Champion of Combined Community Action Cook-off on Saturday, April 22. The Cook-off raised $14,000 to benefit its local Meals on Wheels program.

In Lee County, the Senior Nutrition program provides hot noon meals, 5 days a week to senior citizens over 60 years of age. Meals are served at two congregate sites in Lee County. Those sites include Giddings and Lexington. CCA also provides Meals on Wheels to those individuals who are homebound and are in need of a nutritious meal. The Nutrition Program prepares and delivers an average of 600 meals a month in Lee County. More than 20 volunteers assist with the program throughout the year.
