Lady Eagles Wrap Up Season

by Mike Organ

Lexington’s Lady Eagles went to Rogers Tuesday night with nothing to win and nothing to lose. They lost the game 11-1. They actually lost the game in the bottom of the first inning when they committed five errors and allowed Rogers five runs. Three more runs in the second, two in the third, and one in the fourth put Lexington away for the year.

Lexington’s lone run came in the fifth. Meghann Wrinkle reached on a bunt. Mackenzie Brown walked to move Wrinkle up a base. A Rogers’miscue allowed Wrinkle to score Lexington’s only run.

Courtney Robertson was the pitcher of record for Lexington. The Lady Eagles end the district race with a record of 18-11 for the season and 8-6 for district play.
