Giddings Man Indicted for Plotting to Kill His Wife
Dale ErwinArldt, 62, of Giddings, was indicted by the Bastrop County Grand Jury for criminal solicitation of capital murder, a first degree felony. The investigation showed that Arldt allegedly met with an undercover DPS officer on January 13, 2012, and allegedly tried to hire the undercover officer to murder his wife and a man he claimed to be having an affair with her.
The investigation revealed that he agreed to pay $1,000 up front for the murders and $4,000 more over a period of time after the murders.
Arldt reportedly agreed to provide a 12-gauge shotgun to the undercover officer for use in the proposed murders.
Arldt was taken into custody by DPS Agents and remains in custody.
