District Track Meet Held in Lexington

Lexington ISD hosted this year’s District 27-AA Track Meet last week, qualifying several Lexington students for the Regional Meet, which will be held Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28, 2012, at D.W. Rutledge Stadium at Judson High School near San Antonio.

Boys and girls qualified relay teams, and the boys had several individuals to qualify, while Johna Alford was the only individual girl to qualify. She will compete in the high jump. Antonio Washington won the District Meet in Shot Put and will go on to Regionals. Will Holcomb also qualified in the Shot Put. Todd Glass qualified in the Discus. Jason Washington qualified in the Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump.

In the individual running events, Eriq Mitchell will go to Regionals after placing second in the High Hurdles at the District Meet, and A.J. Flot captured the silver medal in the 200 meters to qualify.

Lexington Eagle 4x100 relay team placed third in District and will compete at Regionals. Those team members are A.J. Flot, Josh Murray, Donnie Havard, and Jason Washington. The Lady Eagle 4x100 qualified also with a third place finish in District. Those team members include Tameka Hall, Meghann Wrinkle, Johna Alford, and Maricela Gaytan. The Lady Eagle 4x200 team, made up of the same girls, also qualified for the Regional Meet.
