Rural Transportation Program Meeting
Residents of Lee County will have an opportunity to comment on the state’s FY2013-FY 2016 Rural Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP) at an upcoming public meeting held by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The meeting will be Thursday, April 19, 2012 at the Giddings City Council Chambers building, 118 East Richmond Street, Giddings.
The session will begin with an open house from 4:30 PM until 5:30 PM. At that time, a list of proposed improvements will be available for review. TxDOT staff will also be on hand to answer questions during the open house. A formal presentation will begin at 5:30 PM, followed by a public comment period.
The RTIP is a schedule that outlines the various federally funded projects in the rural areas. The program also contains projects for which the Capital Area Rural Transportation System anticipates submitting for federal grant applications. Projects listed in the program have been developed in cooperation with local governments and most expect to use federal funds.
