The win continues to set up a must win situation against Cameron next Friday in Lexington. The win was highlighted by Meghann Wrinkle’s inside the park three run homer.

The game started out very tight. The Lady Eagles had beaten Lago 17-0 in three innings in Lago Vista earlier in the season. This time was to be very different. Lexington did not score until the third inning. Kasey Smith got hit with two out. Bailey Reynolds got plunked right behind Smith. Madison Bexley reached on an error by the third baseman. Kassie Prew drove home two runs with a single. Kaylie Sherman walked, but a pop out ended the threat.

The fourth inning saw the Lexington offense explode. Mackenzie Brown led off with the first of three consecutive doubles. Courtney Robertson, and Kasey Smith followed suit. Reynolds walked and Bexley reached on a fielder’s choice before the third out occurred.

In the fifth, three more runs came across. Wrinkle doubled, Brown singled, Robertson singled, Smith reached on a fielder’s choice, and Reynolds singled.

The sixth saw three more Lexington runners cross home plate. Prew singled for her third hit of the game. Mariah Thornton reached on a fielder’s choice. Chelsea Nadeau reached on a fielder’s choice. Wrinkle then homered to empty the bases and end the scoring.

“Not on my watch!” That’s what Lady Eagle Catcher, Kasey Smith, may have been telling the Lago Vista runner before she tags her out at home plate.
