Archie Hubert Sorenson
He and Dolma Nell “Dottie” Hart were married on March 11, 1939 in Lexington. He had been a resident of Lexington for the past 74 years, moving from Haskell, Texas. Before age 7 he had also lived in Corpus Christi and Edna. He was a carpenter, painter, rancher and a farmer. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and served as a Deacon. He enjoyed gardening, Domino’s, playing baseball and working outdoors.
Mr. Sorenson passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2012 in Round Rock, Texas. He reached the age of 100 years and 6 months. He is preceded in death by his parents, Brothers; Leland, M. H., Speck, Jack and an infant brother. Sisters; Bertha McNeil and an infant sister.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years; Dolma Nell “ Dottie” Sorenson of Lexington; two daughters, Sharon Roelse of Hutto and Judy Featherstone & husband Dr. James Featherstone of Huntsville; son-In-Law, Al Roelse of Austin; 5 Grandchildren, Chris Roelse & wife Carolyn of Round Rock, Jody Roelse & wife Roxane of Pflugerville, Shannon Muir & husband John of Pasadena, TX, Amber Featherstone of New York, NY, Danyel Rogers & husband Brandon of Abilene; Great Grandchildren, Avery & Ashley Roelse of Pflugerville, Lydia, Bethany, Andrew & Nathan Muir of Pasadena, Mya & Bennette Rogers of Abilene.Pallbearers were Ned Renfroe, Bobby Yount, Bobby Varner, Johnny Kurten, Bland Davis and Tommy Hart. Honorary pallbearers were Leroy Cast, B.C. Carter, and Bill Emmons.
Services for Mr. Archie Hubert Sorenson were Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Givens and Rev. Ray Dennis officiating. Burial followed in the Mesquite Cemetery near Lexington.
