Sports Thoughts

by Mike Organ

The NCAA basketball championship is down to Kansas and Kentucky. Several people picked that as the championship game. I did not.

The Lady Eagles and Eagles are entering a critical period this week in their chances to make the playoffs.

Bailey Reynolds had an odd happening in the Thorndale game. She made the first and last outs of the first inning on deep fly balls to left field.

The Baylor Lady Bears are playing for the national championship Tuesday night. Baylor coach, Kim Mulkey, won two national championships, as a player, and one as a head coach. Could Tuesday night be her second? I hope so. She seems like a class act.

Texas hired an ex-coach and player from North Texas - a coach with Texas tradition and connections. It makes sense and she did not cost millions.

Gary Blair of A&M stopped Texas in their tracks by saying once an Aggie, always an Aggie. It seems UT thinks everyone and all coaches want to work there.
