Walter Herbert Kaiser
Walter Herbert Kaiser was born on September 25, 1912 in Fedor, Texas to Carl & Bertha (Exner) Kaiser. He was baptized on October 6, 1912 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fedor and confirmed on March 26, 1926, also at Trinity Lutheran Chuch in Fedor. His confirmation verse was Revelations 3:20, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock: if any man hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come to him and will sup with him and he with Me.” Walter was united in marriage to Selma Drosche on November 29, 1934 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington. This union was blessed for 73 years and the birth of three daughters, Alda Bess, Doris & Irene. He was a lifelong farmer and rancher and a loving father and grandfather. Walter and Selma’s home was a very special place and full of precious memories where everyone was welcome.
Mr. Kaiser was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Selma; four brothers, Ludwig Kaiser, Martin Kaiser, Edgar Kaiser and Paul Kaiser; five sisters, Alma Biehle, Hedwig Schneider, Emily Herklotz, Amanda Drosche and Irma Melcher; granddaughter, Cynthia Clifford; grandson, Ronnie Schubert; and two sonsin law, Herbert Schubert and Curtis Tally.
He is survived by three daughters, Alda Bess Schubert of Fedor, Doris Tally of Lexington and Irene & Elmer Faske of Austin; eight grandchildren, Leslie & Debbie Schubert, James & Ginger Clifford, Sandra & Clyde Lay, Gary & Marisa Clifford, Timothy & Donna Faske, David & Juanita Clifford, Travis & Jennifer Faske and Tammy & Randall Boehme; sixteen great grandchildren, Andrea Clifford, Christopher Clifford, Matthew Clifford, Andrew Schubert, Joshua Lay, Kristen Schubert, Courtney Clifford, Zachary Lay, Casey Faske, Davie Clifford, Nathanael Clifford, Lillie Clifford, Clayton Faske, Colton Faske, Ryan Clifford and Cindy Clifford; 2 step granddaughters, Joanne & David Bergsten and Roxane & Ronny Miksch; 3 step great grandchildren, Brad Voight, Lyndsi Billings and Samuel Bergsten; sister, Betty Peck of Missouri; sister-in-law, Clara Kaiser of Lexington; extended family members, Vanessa Clifford and Mary Ann Urban, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Walter Kaiser, 99, of Lexington, Texas were held on Monday, March 26, 2012 at St. James Lutheran Church in Lexington with Rev. Leif Hasskarl officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Serving as pallbearers were his grandsons, Leslie Schubert, James Clifford, (Ronnie Schubert*in memory), Clyde Lay, Gary Clifford, Timothy Faske, David Clifford, Travis Faske and Randall Boehme. Honorary pallbearers were his great grandsons, Christopher Clifford, Matthew Clifford, Andrew Schubert, Joshua Lay, Zachary Lay, Nathanael Clifford, Clayton Faske, Colton Faske and Ryan Clifford.
