Meet the Rep. Candidates Forum for 21st District Court Judge

The Bastrop County TEA Party will host a “Meet the Candidates” Forum for 21st District Court Judge. The Democrat race is uncontested, thus so, the focus of this forum is on the contested race. The Republican Primary candidates campaigning for the office include Carson Campbell, Chris “Matt” Dillon, and Derek Van Gilder. These candidates will be answering specific questions from the Bastrop County TEA Party. The Young Republicans, led by Jarrett Namken, have partnered with the Bastrop County TEA Party and will be asking questions along with the audience. The Forum will be held at the Bastrop First National Bank on Thursday, April 5, 2012. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. with discussion beginning at 6:45 p.m.

According to information found on the website, Texas Courts Online, “district courts are the trial courts of general jurisdiction of Texas. District courts have original jurisdiction in all felony criminal cases, divorce cases, cases involving title to land, election contest cases, civil matters in which the amount in controversy ( the amount of money or damages involved) is $200 or more, and any matters in which jurisdiction is not placed in another trial court.” The elected office of Judge, 21st District Court, is an extremely important office serving the counties of Bastrop, Burleson, Lee, and Washington. Please attend this important forum to learn more about the candidates before voting in the May 29th primary election.
