St. Joseph Offers Free HeartScore Test

According to the Center for Disease Control, heart disease is the leading cause of death in the U.S. It doesn’t have to be that way, and St. Joseph is trying to help the Brazos Valley buck the trend.

We’re offering a FREE “heart score” test with the hope that if necessary, those who learn they’re at risk, can do something about it. The brief test includes a blood sample to determine HDL and LDL cholesterol, triglycerides, blood glucose, as well as blood pressure and cardiac risk rating.

The test is offered 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 27 – Friday March 2. St. Joseph facilities in Bryan, College Station, Brenham, Caldwell, Franklin, Hearne, Lexington, Madisonville, Navasota and Normangee are participating. Call St. Joseph Healthy Communities 979.731.1231 to make your appointment today.

To ensure accurate readings, participants must fast 12 hours prior to the test. Lab results are confidentially mailed several weeks following the test.

St. Joseph is committed to our mission of promoting wellness in the Brazos Valley and last year spent more than $35,000 providing this free test to 650 people.
