World Day Of Prayer

The Lexington area will celebrate World Day of Prayer Friday, Mar. 2nd, at 10:30 am at Lexington United Methodist Church, Rockdale at 2nd Street.

World Day of Prayer is a worldwide ecumenical movement of Christian women of many traditions who come together to observe a common day of prayer each year on the first Friday in March. Each year a different country writes the worship service. For 2012 the Christian women of Malaysia have developed the theme “Let justice prevail!”

“Selamat datang.” Peace and welcome! This greeting is a daily reminder that harmony as a people is rooted in peace and welcome, and that to live together in harmony is a blessing from God. All are invited to come and be a part of this special time of prayer and fellowship that will be followed by a potluck lunch in the LUMC Fellowship Hall. Call Mary Beth Gibson, 773-2202, for more information or if you need childcare.
