If you need something to read, stop by the Giddings Public Library and check out a good book or CD. The Towers Of Midnight by Robert Jordan is a science fiction book that tells about the seals on the Dark One’s prison. Perrin Aybara must find a way to master the wolf within him as an unseen for the most difficult challenge of his life.

A Stolen Life by Jaycee Dugard is written by Jaycee in her own words. She describes how she was held hostage for eighteen years by registered sex offender Phillip Garrido, who sexually abused her and fathered her two children, and how she was finally found by authorities. The Wreckage by Michael Robotham is about ex-cop Vincent Ruiz as he tries to track down the thieves who robbed him of his briefcase. A Simple Act Of Violence by R.J. Ellroy is about a series of murders in Washington D.C. during the mid-term elections that reveal some disturbing facts about the intrigues of the city’s elite when Detective Miller discovers that the victims do not officially exist.

Tigerlily’s Orchids by Ruth Rendell has written a psychologically thrilling novel about the secrets they keep, and what they will do to hide them. Trespasser by Paul Doiron is about game warden Mike Bowditch and how he ignores warnings by local authorities and risks his relationship with his girlfriend to conduct a secret investigation. Murder On Sisters’ Row by Victoria Thompson involves Sarah Brandt and Sergeant Frank Mallory in the investigation of a murder of a charitable lady of means who rescued a prostitute and her newborn.

Other good books are: White Shotgun by April Smith; Heaven Is For Real by Lynn Vincent; The Guilty Plea by Robert Rotenberg and Born To Die by Lisa Jackson.
