Lexington Garden Club News

By Nita Levy

Members of the Lexington Garden Club met at the home of Millie Wester last month. Cohostesses were Alice and Leonard Kastner and Kaye Dunn, who served delicious snacks that were enjoyed by all.

The presentation was done by Garden Club member, Paulette Schulze. She spoke on “Starting Plants with Jiffy Peat Pots.” It was a very interesting and informative presentation and many enthusiastic members were ready to get started with “starting” their own pots.

Old business was discussed and the new business discussed was that the Lexington Economic Development Cooperation donated $4,000 to the City of Lexington for On the Square beautification, which the City said was to be coordinated by the Lexington Garden Club and the City of Lexington. City maintenance will assist the LGC Beautification Committee as needed.

The next meeting is on February 9, at 2 p.m ., at the Woodson Community Building. Cohostesses will be Karen Boriack, Lina Murray, Nina Seifert and Wanda Townsend.
