Eagles Claw Buffaloes

Even District Record at 3 - 3
by Mike Organ

Lexington defeated Florence 47-32 Friday night to even their district record at 3- 3. Jason Washington keyed the win with driving lay ups, three pointers and passes to teammates open under the basket. Washington is beginning to look like a point guard is supposed to play.

Lexington won the first quarter by two points and then slowly increased their lead throughout the rest of the game. A.J. Flot had a good game, scoring 13 points and securing rebound after rebound with his superior jumping ability. Flot was three times the recipient of excellent passes from Washington. Josh Murray had a good game with nine points and some excellent defensive plays that resulted in easy Lexington points. Eriq Mitchell continued to play steady basketball. Nothing fancy, just good basketball. Donnie Havard continues to hustle every second he is on the court.

Lexington is now 4-3 in district play after the first round. Lexington is sitting in good position to get a playoff spot by beating the teams they are supposed to beat and then topping one of the teams they lost to in the first round.
