Police Get Two More Patrol Cars

In a special called meeting on Tuesday, January 17, the Lexington City Council voted unanimously to purchase two police cars for $ 8,500. The Lexington PD was given a grant/ gift of $7,000 and the City added $1,500 to that amount to complete the purchase. This gives the City a total of five police cars. In last week’s meeting, the council also voted, at the request of Police Chief Jerry Bowden, to increase the number of reserve officers serving on the force by three, giving the LPD a total of ten police officers.
