Lexington Police Capture Fugitive


David John Johnson was arrested in Lexington on Tuesday, January 10. David John Johnson was arrested in Lexington on Tuesday, January 10. On Tuesday, January 10, 2012, at 6:10 p.m., Lexington Police Chief Jerry Bowden, along with Captain Yarbrough, Officer Gaskamp, and Officer Nurse, executed what Chief Bowden described as a SWAT raid at a residence in the 400 block of Avenue G, in search of a fugitive by the name of David Johnson. Johnson was also wanted on multiple felony warrants and thought to be armed.

Chief Bowden said, “ After searching the house, we located Johnson concealed in a wall in the bathroom area and he was arrested without incident and booked into the Lee County Jail.”

Johnson was wanted on Felony Warrants from Bastrop County for Burglary of a Habitation; from Lexington for Auto Theft, and from the Texas Bureau Pardons and Parole for the offenses of Burglary and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.

Lexington Officers were assisted in this operation by Lee County Chief Deputy Nathan Lapham, Deputy Allen, and Deputy Aayres.
