On Thursday, January 5th, the Lexington Lady Eagle Middle School Girls basketball team played host to the Buffaloes of Florence. Florence started their evening by running their 7B team out on the court. After watching the girls start warming up, a Lexington coach went over and reminded Florence that Lexington did not have a 7B team. Florence 7B came off and both 8B teams hit the court.

The games started late when the officials failed to show up. After a few minutes of delay, out walked our very own Coach Jason Holcomb in a Zebra stripped shirt, ready to call the game.

Lexington’s #50 Makayla Woodward got the scoring going with a free throw, only to have Florence answer with a bucket for 2. That would be the only points scored for Florence all night.

The rest of the game was owned by Lexington, who went on to win the contest 21-2. Scoring for Lexington were: 1 by #50 Makayla Woodward; 4 each by #40 Chelsye Hammond and #55 Sunny Adams and high point scorer #20 Shakora Litimar with 10 points.
