Lago Vista dealt Lexington its first district defeat Tuesday night with a 57-51 win over the Eagles. The game was tightly contested from the first made shot, a two-point shot by Lago Vista, until the last shot which also was a deuce by LV.

Lexington’s first goal was a trey by Eriq Mitchell that gave Lexington a 3-2 lead briefly. LV retook the lead and held it until Donnie Havard dropped a three-pointer to give Lexington a 13- 11 lead. Jason Washington made a two after LV had tied at 13. LV tied at 15 and then took the lead 17-15. From that point on Lexington played keep up.

LV would open a lead of six and Lexington would cut it to one or two. Lexington finally pulled ahead 40-39 in the fourth quarter. LV then scored the next four points to establish a 43-40 lead. Lexington never pulled even again. A.J. Flot, Mitchell, and Jason Washington made baskets, but the Eagles could never get even with the Vikings.

The Eagle JV also came up short against Lago Vista losing 33-24.
