Lady Eagles Looted by Lady Vikings
Lexington battled the Lago Vista Lady Vikings evenly for the first quarter, actually taking a 13- 12 lead after the first quarter. From there it was literally downhill for the much shorter Lady Eagles. Lago Vista eventually won the game 54-32.
The first quarter was Lexington’s high point. Kristen Boettcher and Christen Schneider sank three-point shots. Schneider had two four-point plays as she sank three-point bombs and was fouled by a LV defender after each shot.
Lexington continues to live and die by the three-point shot. The Lady Eagles made 5 of 16 against LV. A high number of turnovers, 16, and 5 of 17 shooting from inside the arc spelled doom for the Lady Eagles. Lexington was also hampered by a lack of height. LV had at least four players on the court all the time that were taller than any of the Lady Eagles.
Schneider led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 10 points. Eight of the ten came in the first quarter.
