December 26, 2011

A caller reported cows out on Hwy 21 near CR 114 in Dime Box. Deputy Ray was dispatched and removed the cows from the road.

Deputy Ray was dispatched to a residence on CR 316 in Lexington after a caller reported that his son’s 4-wheeler had been stolen. After investigation it was determined that the 4-wheeler had not been stolen.

December 27, 2011

A motorist reported two subjects walking along Hwy 290 West and both were wearing dark colored clothing which made it difficult for them to be seen. Deputy Khan located the subjects and checked them through the TCIC/NCIC which showed one of them having warrants out of another county. The subject was arrested and booked into Lee County Jail.

Someone had struck a hog on FM 3403 approx 1 mile off Hwy 21 in Lincoln. Deputy Khan located and removed it from the roadway.

Deputy Rudolph assisted Burleson County after several mailboxes had been pulled up and dumped off just inside the county line.

Deputy Ray and Deputy Skinner were dispatched to Hwy 77 South to check on an 18-wheeler that was blocking the roadway. Deputies advised that the truck driver had run out of gas and was waiting for a good Samaritan to bring him some diesel but he never showed back up. McCoy’s wrecker was dispatched to the scene and the roadway was cleared.

A complainant requested that a deputy check the welfare of some horses located on Hwy 290 East. Deputy Ray checked and advised that the horses appeared to be okay and they had plenty of food and water.

Deputy Allen was dispatched to FM 141 near CR 117 to put up cows.

December 28, 2011

Deputy York spoke to a complainant that was very upset because she is concerned about her mother in law. She believes she is being neglected and is not being taken care of properly. Subject was given the number to Adult Protective Services and they are starting an investigation.

The Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call from an unknown subject asking for the police to help her. The address showed a residence on CR 445 in Lincoln. Deputy Crockett and Deputy Skinner located the residence and spoke to a female who stated that she was okay and did not know the name of the male subject who assaulted her.

December 29, 2011

Deputy Ayers responded to a disturbance at a residence on Hwy 77. The complainant stated that her husband was intoxicated and became very violent towards her and also threatened her with a gun in front of their grand-daughter. Information was gathered and a report was made.

A motorist reported cows were out on the road on CR 119. Deputy Liles located them and ran them back into a pasture.

Deputy Liles met with a complainant on CR 430. She advised that someone had parked a trailer on her property. There was a goat inside the trailer. The Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate the owner of the trailer.

A caller reported that he witnessed a lady dump off two dogs at the Nail’s Creek Park. He followed her and saw the house she went into. Deputy Liles went to the residence and the lady denied anything. The complainant took one dog and the other ran off and could not be located. A report was taken.

Deputy York was dispatched to a residence on CR 200 after the owner reported that they had been burglarized. Investigation continues on this case.

A complainant reported that they had evicted some people from their rent home and the tenants left their dogs inside the house and the dogs had damaged the inside of the home. Deputy Crockett took a report.

December 30, 2011

Deputy Crockett responded to a complainant on CR 309 in Lexington. He stated that he was outside repairing something and his neighbor started yelling at him and screamed at him to quit hammering. The neighbor told him that he had a gun. Deputy Crockett spoke to both parties and the situation was resolved.

Giddings Police Department requested assistance at a disturbance on Titus St. Deputy Carvin and Deputy Ayers responded.

Deputy Ray was dispatched to FM 1697 @ FM 180 after several callers reported cows out.

Sheriff Meyer and Deputy Ray assisted with a funeral escort in Dime Box. The burial was at St. John’s Cemetery.

A complainant reported that someone in a black car was at the Town and Country Mobile Home Park playing their music extremely loud. Deputy Ray patrolled the area.

Deputy Liles and Deputy Allen assisted with a child custody issue. A caller reported that he went to get his daughter for his visitation and when he got to the residence the stepfather was intoxicated and began to argue. The complainant opened the back door to retrieve his daughter and the stepfather put the car in reverse and hit him. The vehicle left heading towards Brenham. Washington County was notified and located the vehicle. The daughter was returned to the father. A report was taken and charges are pending.

December 31, 2011

The Sheriff’s Office received a call about several people physically fighting at a residence on FM 141. Deputy Allen and Deputy Khan responded. One subject was arrested and booked into Lee County Jail.

Several motorists reported a rollover accident on Hwy 290 West. Deputy Khan was dispatched along with B& M Ambulance. One subject was taken to the hospital.

Deputy Rudolph responded to 7th & Rockdale St in Lexington after a caller complained of the strong odor of natural gas. The area was searched but the odor was gone.

While on routine patrol, Deputy Rudolph located a minor one vehicle accident on FM 1624 between Hwy 77 and Hwy 21. The driver was not injured and had someone on the way to help him fix a flat. The vehicle had minor damage. Deputy Rudolph took a crash report.

A caller reported two people were walking on Hwy 21 West. Deputy Skinner located them and they advised that their vehicle had run out of gas. Deputy Skinner gave them a courtesy ride to get gas.

Deputy Skinner was dispatched to CR 226 after a complainant reported that someone driving an older model pickup was driving at excessive speeds.

January 1, 2012

Deputy Crockett and Deputy Ayers were dispatched to a fight in progress at the old VFW Hall. The fight was verbal only and the parties involved went home.

Lifeline reported that their client on CR 450 in Dime Box reported hearing a loud bang and/ or possibly an explosion. Deputy Skinner patrolled the area and was unable to locate any loud noises.

Milam County reported that they had received a call from a subject that lives on CR E in Lexington. Deputy Ray spoke to the complainant who stated that his wife took a large sum of money from him and he had not seen or heard from her in nearly a week. Deputy Ray was able to make contact with her and she is ok but does not want to go back home. Information was passed on to the complainant.

Deputy Rudolph removed a large deer carcass from the middle of the roadway on Hwy 77.

A complainant reported two vehicles were racing up and down CR 226. Deputies will be closely patrolling the area on all shifts.

Austin Police Department requested a welfare check on a female they believed might have been assaulted. Deputy Skinner and Deputy Crockett went to the address given but advised that the trailer house is no longer on the property.

St Joseph Hospital contacted the Sheriff’s Office to report that a 7 year old child was at the hospital with a dog bite to the face. A report was taken.

No reports of major incidents took place over the Holiday weekend. Remember that schools start up from the Holidays, please drive with caution in the School Zones and where buses are loading and unloading children.
