Giddings Library News Corner

By Judy Belyeu

The Giddings Public Library continues to offer a wonderful selection of large print books. Come in, check out our books, sit by a warm fire and read. The False Friend by Myla Goldberg is about Celia and how she unconsciously sabotages a relationship and returns to her hometown to confess her role in the disappearance of her best friend, Djuna, over twenty years ago. Playing The Game by Barbara Taylor Bradford is an explosive novel about one woman’s journey to success in a seductive novel of passion and international intrigue. Waking Up In Dixie by Haywood Smith is a hilarious story of love and marriages, with a second chance. Will Of Steel by Diana Palmer is about police chief Theodore Graves and his encounter with feisty Jillian Sanders. She challenges both his steel will and his status as a dedicated bachelor. Christmas Cake by Lynne Hinton captures the intimacy and humor of women’s friendships in a lighthearted, pleasurable story that’s just in time for the holiday season.

The Best Of Friends by Susan Mallery is a witty, richly, layered story about friendship, love, and breaking free. West Texas Kill by Johnny D. Boggs is a western story about a vast harsh land ruled by Texas Ranger Captain Hector Savage. His motive wasn’t duty, it was money. A decent honest Ranger, Chance can’t stand by while Savage runs roughshod over the territory. Bake Until Golden by Linda Evans Shepherd and Eva Marie Everson is about the Potluck Catering Club. The women of the club thought winning the biggest prize was great, but they were not counting on the strange goings- on they would confront when they returned home. Some other large print books are: The Prostitutes’ Ball by Stephen J. Cannell; Marrying Daisy Bellamy by Susan Wiggs; Secrets To The Grave by Tami Hoag and In The Garden Of Beasts by Erick Larson.
