Delta Kappa Gamma Society Has Meeting

The Gamma Omega Chapter of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society met at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 3, 2011 in the Fellowship Hall of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Phillipsburg, Texas with 55 members and 2 guests present.

Barbara Truitt read the Mission Statement and Susan Massey led the Pledges. Carole Fry read the Collect and gave the Meditation. Joy Mueller had the prayer. Sharon Spies led the music.

The opening activity, led by Mary Keienburg, was Christmas Carol and song Riddles. Susan Massay and Karen Sloan won with the most correct answers. Carole Fry introduced the speaker, Kim Mathis, who spoke on Focusing Families. Members brought purses filled with toiletries as donations to Focusing Families.

Mary Keienburg asked members to think about whom to nominate for the Chapter Achievement Award. Also the Lone Star News has information online about the State Convention at Las Colinas in Irving. Members were asked to send donations for Schools for Africa to Linda Pinkerton by December 15. Sealy members will announce the recipient of the Lend- A- Hand Award at the February meeting.

Treva Bullard won the Door Prize donated by Cheryl Pritchett. Julia Parker won the Perfect Attendance Prize donated by Myra Demel. Bellville members were thanked for serving as hostesses. The next meeting will be February 4, 2012 at 9:30 a.m. with Waller members serving as hostesses.

Members from Lee County attending were Lynette Brown and Trudy Holland from Lexington, Julia Parker and Barbara Webb from Giddings.
