Lexington Police Report

November 28, 2011

Officer Nurse went to the 400 block of Cherry Street on a follow up contact from a previous attempted suicide. All was well at the residence.

Capt. Yarbrough and Officer Nurse responded to the Round Top State Bank reference an alarm activation. Checked ok.

Capt. Yarbrough and Officer Nurse went to the 800 block of Rockdale Street on a death notification.

November 29, 2011

Officer Gaskamp issued a traffic warning on Hwy. 77.

Officer Gaskamp interviewed a citizen in the 200 block of Rockdale Street reference a civil complaint.

Chief Bowden and Officer Gaskamp spoke with a concerned mother about her daughter. She was referred to the Lee County Sheriff ’s Office because the incident of concern had occurred several miles out in the County.

Officer Gaskamp met with a complainant in the parking lot of the Woodson Community Center reference a complaint of fraud. Report written and filed.

November 30, 2011

Corporal Wooldridge conducted TCLEOSE mandated firearms qualifications at the Lexington Police Firing Range and qualified Reserve Officer Raney and Reserve Officer Bishop. Records on file.

Chief Bowden and Officer Gaskamp were dispatched to Hwy 696, 1 mile east of Lexington reference a donkey on the highway. Owner fenced in the donkey.

Chief Bowden and Officer Gaskamp responded to 1100 block of Main Street reference a horse in the roadway. Corralled by two local citizens.

Chief Bowden and Officer Gaskamp responded to CEFCO reference a gas drive off. Area searched from Lexington to Giddings. Unable to locate.

Chief Bowden, Capt. Yarbrough, Officer Gaskamp, and Officer Nurse responded to the corner of Caldwell and 9th Street reference explosion and fire. Lexington Volunteer Fire Department also arrived. Checked ok. Large trash fire.

Officer Nurse checked by the local Justice of the Peace Office on a welfare concern. All was ok.

At 9:00 pm Officer Nurse met Chief Bowden at the CEFCO store on a business check.

At 10:00 pm Chief Bowden checked the rear area of Peterson’s Food Store for the safe exit of employees, and was met there by Officer Nurse.

At 11:55 pm Chief Bowden made an area patrol of the City.

December 1, 2011

At 6:37 am Officer Gaskamp responded to the 9100 block of Hwy. 77 reference a break-in in progress. Checked ok.

At 7:00 am Officer Gaskamp went to Hwy. 696 West reference a suspicious vehicle. Unable to locate.

At 8: 00 am Chief Bowden checked the area of Holy Family Catholic Church. All was ok.

Officer Gaskamp met with Lee County Deputies reference some criminal cases.

Officer Gaskamp issued a traffic warning on Hwy. 77 North.

Chief Bowden, Capt. Yarbrough, and Officer Nurse provided security for the Lexington High School Pep Rally on the town square.

Capt. Yarbrough continued the investigation of a criminal assault case that has been ongoing for a period of time.

At 10:00 pm Chief Bowden and Officer Nurse assisted a local citizen who had accidentally locked herself out of her vehicle at the Pep Rally.

December 2, 2011

At 7:00 am Officer Gaskamp issued a traffic warning in the school zone on 5th Street.

Chief Bowden met a mother and daughter at the police department reference a complaint of threats. The complainants live out in the County, but the daughter works in Lexington and has been threatened with bodily harm by an ex fiancé. Chief Bowden stated the police would provide extra patrols.

At 6:00 pm Officer Dontrell Nurse successfully completed the final phase of his law enforcement field training.

At 7: 00 pm Officer Nurse responded to the 9100 blk of Hwy. 77 reference a neighbor dispute. Situation resolved.

Chief Bowden made a business check at the El Matador Restaurant.

At 8:50 pm Chief Bowden engaged in a stationary patrol point for one hour near the El Matador Restaurant.

At 10:00 pm Chief Bowden checked Peterson’s Food Store and the CEFCO Store for public safety.

December 3, 2011

At 12:55 am Officer Nurse checked Hwy. 77 for an 18 wheeler driving without lights. Unable to locate.

At 1:55 am Chief Bowden made an area patrol of the City reference past complaints of criminal mischief.

December 4, 2011

Chief Bowden received a call at the police station from a Rockdale citizen who reported drug activity at a residence in Lexington. Investigation to follow.

At 11:10 pm Chief Bowden checked area and ground of Holy Family Catholic Church. All was well.

The Christmas Season is here. Extra care should be taken when shopping and parking. Please do not leave packages, purses and keys in your vehicles, and drive defensively as you travel about. Also, please use care with your Christmas trees and lights because of the potential fire hazard. And finally, let us all remember the “Reason for the Season.”
