Children’s Voices Lifted During Santa’s Visit and Tree Lighting

Last Saturday evening, the Lexington Log Cabins, Round Top State Bank, the Lexington Ministerial Alliance and the Lexington Rotary hosted the annual Pioneer Festival of Lights in downtown Lexington, on the Square, at the Cabins. Children from area churches, led by Phil Richardson and Lance Richards, and accompanied by Bill Tucker, sang Christmas Carols to the delight of the crowd. Sausage wraps, cookies and hot chocolate were served while everyone waited for Santa. In short order, Santa did arrive on a fire truck. He lit the tree of lights and quickly began hearing children’s Christmas wishes. Children donated toys for the Lexington Blue Santa project and got their pictures taken with Santa.
