Ledbetter’s Christmas Lane of Lights

The Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department (membership less than 20) and the Ledbetter Homemakers Club have joined together to organize the Ledbetter’s Christmas Lane of Lights. This is a fun, family event for all ages. Operating every Friday and Saturday night from Thanksgiving to Dec. 23 from 6: 00 to 9: 00 p. m., the organizations have put together a rural twist on going out and looking at Christmas lights.

The Lane of Lights adventure begins at Stuermer’s Store, on the corner of US 290 and FM 1291 in downtown Ledbetter. From the Store, visitors will enjoy a hayride on an open trailer or a trolley trailer through a lighted path of lights and Christmas scenes. Along the way, Noah’s ark is found by a small pond and a lighted Manger Scene is located in a field. The ride lasts for approximately 18 minutes, and ends on Stuermer Ranch. Several acres of the ranch have been converted into a wonderland of Christmas lights.

The 6-8 volunteers begin in June, checking out the decorations and lights. In October the work begins in earnest, stringing lights and then arranging the different lighted scenes. The Ledbetter Homemakers Club spends hours baking cookies for this event. They do it for the community, and all the proceeds benefit the Ledbetter Volunteer Fire Department. More information can be found at ledbetterschristmaslaneoflights.com. Tickets are $ 6 per person, children 2 years and under are free.
