Tech Honors Seniors
Texas Tech honored senior volleyball players, Amanda Dowdy and Karlyn Meyers, Saturday night as part of their season ending festivities. The Lady Raiders finished the season 15-17 and 1-15 for the Big XII conference games.
Dowdy, a Lexington High School graduate and the daughter of Sam and Rhonda Dowdy, had a match high 12 kills in the final match against Missouri. The 12 kills added to Dowdy’s Tech records and moved her up the conference career totals list.
Dowdy recently completed her senior swing through Central Texas. The Techsters lost to Texas on October 12th and fell to the Lady Aggies on November 2nd . Dowdy led her team in kills in both matches with 12 kills in Austin and 10 in College Station. Dowdy had 454 kills this season for the Lady Raiders. Dowdy holds the Tech team record with 37 kills in a single five-game match.
