The Big O pontificates on football
by Mike Organ

The Eagles got past their first test in the playoffs. It started out like New Waverly was going to be a real challenge. The fumble into the end zone and 100+ yard return took the spark out of the Bulldogs.

The Aggies blasted Kansas in getting ready to host the Horns one last time.

Texas may not win another game this season. I don’t think they can handle the Aggies. If the Baylor team that played Oklahoma shows up, the T-sippers may not have happy holidays. Will a 6-6 record keep Mac’s job? Is Mike Sherman’s job safe? The loser on Turkey Day may end up being a hunted.

The Cowboys looked ho-hum in beating Washington in overtime. They are leading their division as of now. Can they keep their intensity the rest of the season so they can make the playoffs?

The Hospital Texans are surviving despite the injuries to all their star players. Matt Schaub, Mario Williams, Andre Johnson are a lot of valuable players that have been lost for all or part of the season.

The McMurry War Hawks defeated Trinity in the first round of the NCAA DIII playoffs. They will play Mary Hardin-Baylor this Saturday at noon in Belton. They played earlier this year with MHB winning 28-27. Former Eagle (Class ‘07), Jimmy Terrell, is the starting strong safety for McMurry. Jimmy will graduate with a Psycology degree on December 17 in Abilene.

Former Eagle ( Class ‘ 08), Andrew Wolridge had a hand in Texas A&M’s 61-7 blasting of Kansas Saturday. Andrew is on schedule to graduate from A&M during the winter graduations.
