Lady Eagles Drop Franklin in Opener

Mackenzie Brown dropped in a three-point shot with 10 seconds left on the clock to give Lexington a 47-45 win over Franklin Monday night. The Lady Eagles had good performances by several players in the season opener under new Coach Chris Horn.

Brown had 17-points to lead the team in scoring. Johna Alford, back from a year’s sabbatical, tossed in 10-points. Miranda Jones had eight points in the win. Brown also dished out three assists to teammates.

There were numerous missed shots in the game. Alford and Jones led the team with 13 rebounds each. Due to great positioning, Madison Bexley was in double digits in rebounding with 10 caroms collected. Brown had seven rebounds and Christen Schneider had seven and four boards, respectively.
