Fayette County Country Music Club November Opry

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, November 21, 2011 at the KC Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7:30 P.M. and the doors will open at 5:30 P.M. Admission is only $5.00. The Opry is brought to you by the Fayette County Country Music Club, which is dedicated to the promotion of good country music. This month we are featuring:

JOSH TIEMANN grew up in La Grange at his parents’ farm just outside of town. A graduate of La Grange High School and Texas A& M University, Tiemann competed as a discus thrower while at A&M. He first began playing the guitar when he was 8 years old under the guidance of Mark Lehmann. He first began writing songs his first year in college and has written over ½ a dozen. Tiemann is currently employed as a Fire Fighter in Victoria. He is married to Jen Tiemann of Nebraska and they live in Pflugerville with their two dogs. He plans to continue writing music in his spare time and to begin playing local shows at the completion of his Paramedic training in January.

DONNIE COLWELL was born and raised and lives in Madisonville, Texas. He graduated from Madisonville High School and has retired from TDCJ Agriculture Department. He now enjoys ranch work, fishing and making guest appearances with the Dennis Ivey Band. He also sang harmony and played rhythm guitar for his grandson Colby Sheppard the past several years.

MINNIE & ELLA BUFFINGTON are 11 and 13 year old sisters who live not far from Coupland, Texas. They have been playing music together for about 7 years—they love Bob Wills, Texas Swing, Hot Jazz and music from the 30s and 40s. When they’re not playing or practicing, they love to read, raise ducks, and ride their ponies on the farm.

TEX PARKER AND THE FABULOUS TEXETTES is TEX PARKER who was Joseph Psencik in the great play “Tin Trunk”. He is a singing cowboy, comedian, actor, folk-singer and song writer and has performed in most of America and parts of Europe. He follows the Cowboy Code: write songs, right wrong, slay dragons and saving damsels in distress. The Texettes is made up of SALLY BLUETECHKA who is a recent addition to the Texettes. She is from Dallas and has sung in Nashville, New York and Los Angeles. She now lives in Smithville. ROCHELLE LARUE TYLER who portrayed Otilia in the play “Tin Trunk” was raised on the stage by her musical family and performed at venues across the Midwest. She toured the U. S. with her own band. She has earned several awards for her productions, Literary works, music/composition, poetry and photography; CANDACE CHERRY was one of the dancers in the play “Tin Trunk” who moved to her parents’ ranch in Round Top in order to dance for the play. She is a seventh generation Texan who danced, sang and played piano and harp in high school. She is a graduate from UT with a degree in special education.
