Bluebonnet’s Nominating Committee to Interview Prospective Board Candidates

Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative’s nominating committee will interview potential candidates to fill three directors’ seats that are up for election in 2012. The committee will conduct the interviews Monday, Jan. 9, and Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2012, at Bluebonnet’s headquarters, located at 650 Texas Highway 21 East, in Bastrop.

Bluebonnet members who are interested in being considered for the board should send their resume to Stanley Sommer, nominating committee chairman, in care of Sarah Newman-Altamirano, Bluebonnet’s general counsel, at P.O. Box 729; Bastrop, TX; 78602. Resumes must be received by 5 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2011. The committee will schedule interviews with prospective candidates in the order in which they are received.

Current Bluebonnet directors who are up for election in 2012 are Richard Schmidt, from Caldwell County, James Kershaw, from Bastrop County, and Suanna Tumlinson, from Travis County. Bluebonnet’s bylaws prohibit more than two directors from one county serving on the board. Currently, Burleson and Washington counties each have two directors who are not up for election. Therefore, members from those counties are not eligible for consideration.
