Benefit for Ronnie Bryan
A benefit for Ronnie Bryan was held Sunday at the Lexington American Legion Hall. It was a combination of a fish dinner, a silent auction and a Texas Hold ‘ Em Poker Game. Noella Tabone, who helped with the event, said, “I could not believe the number of people who came out to the benefit. It was so amazing! Ronnie had no idea we were going to do this and just learned about it on Sunday. He was very emotional and grateful.”
Ronnie, who is a paraplegic, has worked many benefits for other people over the years and suddenly found himself in the uncomfortable position of being the benefactor of this community’s generosity.
He suffered third degree burns from a heating pad, while under the care of a doctor, on September 20 of this year. He has had five surgeries on the burns, three at Brooke Army Medical Burn Center and two at Methodist Hospital, all in San Antonio.
He is currently undergoing treatment at a burn and wound rehabilitation center and is expecting to come home soon.
