Seton Development Board

Dr. David K. Harris MD Prolotherapist, is scheduled to be the speaker for the meeting of the Giddings Associates of the Seton Development Board on Tuesday, November 15 at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will be held in Cherry Hall of the First Presbyterian Church in Giddings.

Dr. Harris is from Austin and has been practicing Prolotherapy (Regenerative Injection Therapy) for a number of years. He has taught other Prolotherapist and attended numerous medical conferences at which he has presented papers and information on Prolotherapy. The concept of prolotherapy was used by Hippocrates over 2500 years ago to heal javelin thrower’s shoulder pain. The concept was investigated, utilized, and refined by George Hackett, MD, over 70 years ago, and has been used by many other physicians since, including the former Surgeon General of the United States, C. Everett Koop, MD. Currently it is being used for injured service personnel to promote healing.

The success rate of over 80% over many thousands of patients suffering from pain show success judged at least 50% of pain reduction. This is quite remarkable, given that the treatment has minimal side effects and cost compared to other surgical and non-surgical treatment. It is estimated that over 3,000,000 patients have been treated with Prolotherapy over 80 years.

Gretchen Rodstrom, President of the Giddings Associates Group said, “The public is invited to attend the meeting to learn more about the procedure that has helped many with back, shoulder, knees, and other joint pain, including patients in the Giddings Community.”
