Lexington Garden Club News

By Nita Levy

On October 13, 2011, members of the Lexington Garden Club met at the home of Kaye Walton. Delicious food was served by co-hostesses Pat Rao, Nita Levy and Paulette Schulze.

The meeting was called to order and old and new business was discussed. Two new members joined. They are Pat Botard and Orene Frankeny.

The meeting was followed by a presentation by Keeton Ehrig, the Lee County Extension Agent with the Texas Agri-Life Extension Office. He spoke on grasshoppers. He provided some very informative data in the way of hand-outs.

Thanksgiving Baskets will be assembled and delivered from the St. James Lutheran Church Parish Hall on November 21 at 9 a.m. Pat Ahrendt will be in charge of that project.

The next meeting will be a field trip to the John Dromgool’s Natural Gardener Organic Gardening headquarters. Clubbers will meet at the Gazebo at 8:30 a.m. sharp to car pool there on November 10.
