Giddings Library

Take a journey to the Giddings Public Library in this nice Fall Weather. You will be surprised to find a huge variety of books and periodicals to read. Peterson Field Guide To Birds Of North America by Roger Peterson was given in memory of Ruth Zoch. This book has illustrations, species accounts, and maps in one place for quick identification and 35 entertaining, easy-to-use video podcasts.

We have a nice selection of large print books. Carte Blanche, a new James Bond novel by Jeffery Deaver is a thriller set in the present day when the iconic British spy engages in a horrific modern villain in a cat & mouse chase that takes him from Balkans and London to the African Continent. The Waiting by Suzzane Woods Fisher is about Jorie King, an Amish woman, who has been waiting for Benjamin Zook to return home so they can marry. News arrives that Ben has been killed. Jorie finds comfort in the friendship of his brother, Caleb. The Tale Of Two Cities, by Charles Dickens is a vivid, classic, and dramatic depiction of the events of the French Revolution and its impact on the lives of French aristocrats Charles Darnay and Lucie Manette and English lawyer Sydney Carton. Southern Comfort by Fern Michaels is about Atlantic homicide detective Patrick “Tick” Kelly, still haunted by the murder of his wife and children, gets an unexpected second chance at happiness when he works with former DEA agent Kate Rush to expose a local human trafficking ring. Hiss Of Death by Rita Mae Brown is about a hospital employee who winds up dead. It is clear there is a mystery afoot. The Choice by Suzanne Woods Fisher is about Carrie Weaver who is looking forward to running away with Lancaster Barnstormers, pitcher Solomon Richl. Carrie has plans that include leaving the Amish community where they grew up. This book uncovers the sweet simplicity of the Amish world.
