Lady Eagles Spiked by Lago Vista
Lexington came into the game with a “beat Lago” mindset but it wasn’t to be. Lago was very consistent and was able to keep their offense in the game. The tall, 6’2” hitter kept hammering away, and as the match progressed, more balls were hitting the floor. The results were a Lago victory by scores of 20-25, 11-25, and 13-25.
Game 1 - This was a very close game in the beginning, both teams swapping single points. The game was tied at 9 -9. LV took the lead to 9-12, but Lexington closed to one point. LV took control with spikes to go up 12- 21. Lexington made a mini run to get back to five points at 19-24. LV closed the Eagles out for the win, 20-25.
Game 2 - This game had a rough start for Lexington. With service problems and failure to convert at the net, LV took a commanding lead at 3- 9, then 4-11, and quickly it was 8-16. The Lady Eagles hustled, but had trouble keeping Lago Vista’s strong hits in play. LV built the lead to 9-19 and pounded their way to the win, 11-25.
Game 3 - In the beginning Lexington played well and showed hope. The score was very close in the beginning, as it was in Game 1. Lexington took an early 3-1 lead. Lexington played much better having to play hard to just win a point. LV followed with a winner to move ahead 5-8. Lexington was behind and played catch-up once again. The Lady E-gals fought back hard to get within one point at 7-8, but LV started getting some strong spikes. The Lady Vikings then closed out the game13-25.
