Lee County Youth Ag Awareness Day

On Wednesday, October 5, 2011, the 4th grade students of Lexington Elementary School participated in the Lee County Youth Ag Awareness Day at the Lee County Sheriff’s Posse Arena in Giddings. The LCYAA Day was educational and enjoyable. The students received information on the following topics: erosion, corn (grinding and production), beef (raising and production), and gun, seat belt, and ATV safety . Students observed the milking of a Jersey cow and how milk is processed for human consumption. In addition, they learned how cotton is converted from a plant to a product.
